I am currently working on the A/C on a 2003 and a 2004 Saab Aeros.
The most puzzling is the 2004 which has had a couple of leaks fixed. It vacuumed down really well and held the vacuum, so I have lots of confidence in the integrity of the refrigerant part. I then serviced with the right amount of R134a.
It cooled very well initially and now the computer will no longer provide ground to the a/c compressor relay. If I jump the relay the compressor starts and I get good cold air and the Tech 2 tells me good pressure of 18 bar or so.
The electric fans don't run and the evaporator temp is 41 degrees F. Never moves.
I have studied all the inputs the computer needs to ground the relay. I am wondering if the Evaporator sensor is stuck at 41 degrees or is defective.
The 2003 also shows the evaporator temp at 41 degrees. This one does still have a leak, so I have to fix that first.
Will a bad temp sender at the evaporator stop the A/C compressor from turning on?
Any suggestions??
