Check this out, your ac runs by psi mostly centered around its high pressure side. Once the car has been idling for a bit turn the a/c button on. The ac fan will turn on and stay on (passenger side fan) after a few minutes the pressure on the high side will build to 280psi at that point the cooling fan will turn on (driver side fan) with this fan on it will start dropping the a/c psi of the high side. After a 10sec to a minute the psi will fall to 230 and the cooling fan will turn off.
This is a example of a properly running a/c system. Adding to much freon will raise the psi on the high side if to much freon is added the cooling fan will be unable to get the psi of the high side down to 230 and will cause your cooling fan to never turn off. In this case the high side psi could keep growing or the psi could stabilize. I pulled a high pressure reading off a car where the fan did not shutoff and it was at 900 psi.
Here's the steps
(Cold engine) idle car with ac on. Listening for the cooling fan to turn on once it dose wait for it to turn off. Then Start adding freon continually until the cooling fan starts again once it dose stop adding freon and wait for it to turnoff. Once it turns off continue to add freon and continue this process. You'll over charge the system doing it this way but when the fan nolonger turns off bleed some freon off the high side valve and wait 20 sec. then bleed some more, wait 20 sec. continue until the fan turns off. Once it dose your system is max charged.
Driving prolonged time then stopping with ac on car idling will have an extended cooling fan ac time
