So I cleaned out the throttle body with a lot of throttle body cleaner and put it in using the old gasket with engine assembly jelly as lube. Reset limp home solenoid. Took a ride. Nice ride, but on the highway, got a P1260. Reset it and a few minutes later got a P1251 and the no TCS light. Reset the CEL. If it was in limp home mode, I limped at 70 mph.
In 2009, regarding the return of those two codes, Anders wrote to clean the TB and "if the codes come back, replace the throttle body." I am next going to use the TB from my 1999 parts 9-5. Link below.
Puzzle is that the car was in the driveway and not running for three months while I replaced the ac compressor and other ac parts, starter and alternator, new serp belt, new motor mounts, sway bar links, a new axle boot, and a turbo to manifold gasket. No engine work other than dropping the pan for a looksee and replacing three o-rings. Why suddenly TB CELs?
