Kind of a shame that money was wasted on an alignment, when only 1 shock was replaced. BECAUSE it is kinda likely the alignment shop messed with the stock alignment to compensate for the age mismatch on those 2 front shocks.
Had a friend with a similar dilemma and he quickly swooped in and replaced the non damaged strut on his own with a matching strut, then turned it over to the repair shop to do the "authorized" work. What you're stuck with is the distinct possibility that not only did the alignment cost a bunch of money, but that what they did should be undone to make this new work produce an optimal result.
Some might even suggest you replace 'em both, and get back to a matched pair before spending another nickel on alignment. Or maybe you should replace every marginal bushing before paying for another alignment. The more upgrades you can achieve before doing another, the better sense it makes.
