2000 Aero 5 sp 275000 miles.
The radiator burst today while sitting in heavy traffic. It was a Nissen replacement with approx 48000 miles on it. I had checked the coolant level the day before and it was fine. Temp guage has been occasionally lazy on showing on the cool side.
My trusted Mechanic asked me how far do i want to go with repairs on this car. Looks like it needs new brakes, tires, ball joints, radiator, Cat is going, Heavy oil leak which is the valve cover gasket or worse. I suspect the DIC as well since two weeks ago I got a P1334 and P1312 code. Changed the plugs and cleared it. Was waiting to see if it came back. This is a rust belt Saab and shows it.
My instant gut feeling is , the car is done in my life. The repair costs are going to be high and may not fix the issue that caused the radiator to fail.( exhaust gases, failed head gasket ?) I Was going to put new tire and front brakes but the added issues makes me think other wise.
feels overwhelming
