+1 on the positive battery cable being suspect.
Its a known issue that these cables corrode from within over time, and lose their ability to carry the full load required to efficiently recharge the battery, even if the battery is good and the alternator functioning perfectly.
The true test of the cable is a voltage drop test under load -- search the forum for links to instruction.
I have a 2003 9-5 Arc (V6) with 280,000 miles on it. Back in 2014 or so, after having long cranks before starting, battery light flickering after starting multiple times in a row (like driving around town doing short trips for errands), my mechanic did a voltage drop, and replaced the positive cable.
The car has started like new every morning since. It completely rejuvenated the car.
