"Figured I'd give an update. I purchased one and received it today. It has the same SEM sticker that my OEM cassette has, as well as made in sweden stamped into it. Only difference that I can see is the additional NGK laser etching on the bottom. Casting shows it was produced 11/2017.

It is good to go as far as I can tell"


From an undisclosed Saab owner site, posted in June/July of this year (2018). The poster included photos of the unit but no photo shows both the NGK logo and the SEM sticker since they are on opposite ends. The photos of the SEM sticker shows a November 2017 Manufacturing Date. Obviously the poster had access to a new SEM built unit which reduces the likelihood this was a fraudulent post.

Currently offered for $204 on the Rock Auto site. I have never had to return anything to Rock Auto but if their Return Policy is reasonable it would be worth the gamble to buy one to be certain it is indeed a SEM manufactured piece. Worst case is Rock Auto has your money for a week or so till the return is processed, and you may have to pay return shipping.
