2006 9-5 sport suspension 5 speed.
Conti Pure Contact 700 UQTD rating tires are only worn to the DW - you can still the the S barely in the tread, but they are so noisy I'm going to ditch them for new ones. They look about half worn, but the noise is unbearable.
In the past few weeks the car got new struts f&r, sway bar links, ball joints and tie rod ends, rear shocks were shot and fronts could have gone on for a while, but once I'm in there might as well do it all. So, now for new tires.
I previously had Conti ProContact 400 series tires that wore evenly until bald without any noise, made the mistake of going to the high mileage PureContact tire.
I could drop back to the 400 (shorter life) series Pro Contacts at about $180 a tire, but Tire Rack has Vrederstiens Quatrac 5 tires at about $130 a tire. Anyone running these now? Tire Rack recommendations are all over the place and useless.
Any advice on any brand appreciated, preference is for a stiffer sidewall for crisper handling, at 110,000 miles tire life is not a priority, I just want to enjoy the car's final years.
Thanks in advance.
