We too bought a new to us '03 9-5 Aero 5 spd just two weeks ago. Driving it down to my son's school we took a pit stop. The car would NOT restart. No lights, chime, NOTHING. Turned out to be a loose / corroded battery connections, so check and clean them. It too sat a lot: 16,000 miles in the past seven years. Also check the condition of batteries in your keys. I hope the car came with two, if not absolutely buy a spare.
The AC doesn't work on our car either although the controller looks to be functioning correctly. I found fluid and dye at the junction on bottom of the receiver dryer. It's down low near the front of the radiator on the driver's side. The AC lines can come in contact with the Auto Trans cooler lines too and wear through so check that. They run across the sub-frame cross member below the radiator. The condensers and evaporators on these cars rarely fail. It's usually lines and / or connections.
