First Good news, it only cost me $30.
Second Good news is that the Tech was able to verify my old 'clock spring' had no internal faults and only needed to have its connections cleaned and to be re-inserted. Fifteen minutes of work which resulted in only a $30 charge.
The Bad news is why they felt the need to inspect and clean a 10 year old clock spring to see if it could be re-used after cleaning. Clock springs are NLA.
Actually, it appears that Saab Parts has a new supplier lined up to make these for half of their previous cost, but none are in the warehouses yet. Delivery is estimated at 4 to 6 weeks. Oh, and it appears Pro-Parts Sweden is the new supplier.
