Thanks All,
Here are my thoughts on next steps, What do you all think?
1 - I want to confirm the path from the sensor to the abs module. My plan is to check the signal at the module to confirm that whatever is happening at the sensor is getting to the module.
Can anyone help with the pinout on the ABS module connector? I dont have WIS. I'd like to know which pins on the connector are the rear left and right sensor.
2 - If that checks out I will swap in a known good ABS module. However my understanding is that the module needs to be divorced/married to the car.
- I have known good modules in my '99 '00 and '08 ... are any or all of these compatible with my '01?
- Is it true that I have to divorce/marry the module, and if so has "civilian" does this? any caveats?
3 - Dave I agree that the ignition module is turning out to be the culprit of all sorts of problems. But right now there are no other symptoms suggesting the ign switch in this case. I have a spare and I could try it if it makes sense, but it would be nice to test it some way.
Side note: is there another junction or connector between the rear sensors and the module? Aside from the four under the rear seat(j108-j111)
The fact that the module does not detect that the left sensor is disconnected makes me suspect the rebuilt ABS module as the most likely culprit at this point.
so, any other suggestions on next diagnostic steps?
- am I missing anything?
- any error in my thought process?
