hard to say, and really hard to describe a sound on a forum. one man's clank is another man's bang and all that.

in regards to this:

I'd say that it sounds pretty normal under the circumstances. what you heard was the parking pawl clicking in, then popping out until the car slowed enough for it pop in and stop the car. It's not like that it caused any damage.

that said:
1 - does the car hold its position is park now?
2 - does it work repeatedly and consistently?

in regards to this:

that is disconcerting.
- Is that repeatable? or was it a one off?
- any odd noises under normal driving?
