Well, we got the new o-ring in the oil pump and cleaned up some of the oil around it. The headlight level switch is coated with oil but has been cleaned. The cable to the connector in the engine compartment appears to be a casualty.
Has anyone ever done one of these before? Is there a work sequence in the WIS? It appears the power steering reservoir has to come out, or at least be moved as the opening in the inner fender well is just beneath it.
Any sage words on HOW to fit the cable connector through the hole in the inner fender?? Does the cable connector need to come off with a special tool, fish the wires through the inner fender and then rebuild the connector? Does the connector actually fit through that little hole?
How about the AC lines? Do they need to be moved too? Looks like there are some tricks to this procedure. Any advice would be most appreciated.
Oh, and as per my tech friends, they say the o-ring on the oil pump goes with age. It should best be replaced every seven or eight years lest you end up with an oily mess - as I can well attest. My oil leaks however are now gone.
Thanks.
