Hans, if this 9-5 was an '01 or older, I would pounce right on that positive battery cable. But Saab fixed this, and neither of my '04s has positive battery cable issues.
When lights come on like this on an '04 for me, it was the alternator. Check your leads to it.
So, no codes associated with this roughness? I keep spares of the ignition cassette, plugs, air mass meter, throttle body and etc. and do trial replacement - one at a time. But '04s pull a code at the drop of a hat normally. My '06 won't, and that's where the trials get done. You got me.
