Just for the heck of it, I decided to check if all the recalls on my 2004 had been taken care of.
Well, there is one outstanding:
GM Recall #: 15204
NHTSA # 08V160
Date Issued: Sep 26, 2008
Recall Title: RECALL 15204-REPLACING A PILLAR TRIM
Recall Description:
Certain MY 2002-2008 9-5 series vehicles for failing to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 201, "Occupant Protection In Interior Impact." During compliance testing, one of the upper interior occupant protection test points exceeded the standard's requirements.
Safety Risk Description:
In the event of a vehicle crash, personal injury to occupants may occur.
Repair Description:
Dealers will install a-pillar trim with improved energy-absorbing capability free of charge.
Recall Status: INCOMPLETE
The dealership where we got the car was a Gm/Pontiac/Saab is now a GM/GMC/Lotus dealership. (how I or they missed this, IDK). Would any place still fulfill the recall? (doubtful - where would they get the parts?)
Suggestions?
