Saab Auto Trans is extremely finicky on what transmission fluid is put into it. Dexron 3 is what it calls for but good luck finding it. G.M made a New improved dexron 3 atf called dexron 6 supposedly it’s the same chemical makeup as dex 3 but with added bonuses. All their new cars are equipped with dex 6. Checking the atf fluid the engine needs to be running and reason no atf fluid dip stick theory is a person never needs to add fluid. At 60,000 miles GM says your car needs a 10 point fluid change at a cheap price of 1000$ this includes a auto transmission fluid flush. The machine that replaces the atf fluid hooks up to the transmissions intake and return line under the car mounted directly to the transmission.
The dipstick has a hot and cold mark on it for the temperature the engine is at. If you did not use Dexron atf while filling or topping off your transmission I’d take the car to your nearest GM dealer for a transmission flush. Or a independent mechanic that knows and will use dexron 3/6
