Hella makes the original orange lamp control unit. Their logo is molded right into the top of it. I'd be inclined to take yours apart and reflow the joints, if you have a soldering iron. If not, a used one might be the way to go if you could find one that came out of a newer car, or check junkyards. They'd probably just charge you for the price of a relay, which can't be more than a few dollars. I picked up a couple at a local Pick N Pull, which came in handy when the relay in my wife's 2001 9-5 started having issues and I didn't want to break out the soldering iron. Is Kaehler (KAE) the unfamiliar European-sounding brand you mentioned? I put their voltage regulators in two of my Saabs, thinking they'd be decent because the part was made in Germany. Bosch currently makes their regulators in India. Both failed way too early, so I don't trust that brand at the moment.
