As others had mentioned, it is most likely the green plastic rollers that fit into the window regulator. Eeuroparts sells the rollers...something on the order of $6-7 each IIRC. It is not a difficult job at all. First time through should talk you about 2-2.5 hrs. IIRC, there is a youtube video that shows how to do it...very helpful.
My drivers side wheel broke last winter when I attempted to put down a frozen window. Got 15 yrs of life out of it. Over the summer I replaced passenger side wheel, just in case...
I'll echo the rust issue - seriously look at it.
Other potential failures....at 190K, I'd think about the turbo. I dont know if there is any way to check for bearing play when it is attached. Usually ppl wait till the dreaded white smoke out of the tail pipe signaling its demise.
