I was backing out of the drive last night in my wife's 9-3 when I spoted something unusual underneath the truck area of my 9-5. "Is the rear muffler delaminating?" We got home around 10pm so I immediately slid under the back of my 9-5 to investigate. Yup, a huge sheet of steel (amazingly thick too) is unwrapping itself in a clockwise direction at the top of the muffler.
Any suggestions for replacement?
I can buy a full SS exhaust from GenuineSaab and they now offer a full SS flex pipe too! I haven't replaced the flex pipe on this car yet and the flex pipe was the first element to fail on my Viggen.
I don't think I will mess with the down-pipe on this car, 2008 9-5 Aero. Neighbors complained regarding my six years of 4:45am start-ups when I had a GenuineSaab down-pipe feeding into a Remus system on my 2000 9-5. Yes, the sound was rather impressive when lifting off the throttle. Not loud, but a deep throaty unmistakable rumble.
