Hello,
It can be difficult to start a car limp home. There is not idle air control valve it is one of the functions of the throttle body. And on a cold start that can make it difficult. If you depress the pedal a little you can often get it to start but you will have to hold the pedal down some to keep it running and you don't want to rev it way up since that could be dangerous. After the engine warms up they will often idle but low when in limphome. Good Luck, Bernie
