Aero struts/shocks w/ non-aero springs?

In an effort to clean out my garage and use up some parts I have laying around, I'm wondering if I would be nuts to pair aero rated struts and shocks with non-aero springs?
I bought a factory sport kit to refresh my 08 aero wagon last year, mostly because I need new front coils (the kit was cheap, barely more than the cost of a set of springs alone). The kit came with the factory sachs struts and shocks, but I instead opted to use Koni Actives. The sachs stuff is taking up space in my garage storage.
My wife's 06 base wagon is now due for a suspension refresh. I'll be doing subframe bushings and all new motor mounts. The car has 122k and while it doesn't ride terribly, I'm sure it could use some updated handling at the corners.
All thoughts appreciated, I'm kind of just thinking out loud here...
