If I understand the symptom you have an "intermittent no-crank" And when this happens, the battery is not flat, it has sufficient charge. is that correct? if so I'm wondering:
- does it always happen after sitting idle?
- do you hear a "click" or a rapid click -click" when attempting to start?
- you mention that waiting 10 seconds or so, and the car will start. does it crank "with gusto" or does it slowly crank and barely come to life?
If the batt is nearly full and you have intermittent no-crank a few possible causes are:
1 - lock switch failing
2 - neutral safety switch failing
3 - starter (solenoid) failing
Or maybe I misunderstood and the battery is actually drawn down and not sufficient to start the car. In that case I'd consider:
1 - 10 days is a long time to sit idle and maybe consider a trickle charger to maintain the batt.
2 - does the lock center always "pop up"?
3 - batt is new but getting a bad batts "off the shelf" is not unheard of (I can vouch for that)
and regardless, the battery positive cable is always a suspect in any charging/starting failure scenario. It's probably not the root cause of the current issue, but something to keep an eye on.
