Old problem, simple "fix": has to do with refineries switching over to "winter" fuel formulas. Summer formula almost always gives these symptoms under same conditons here - western NY State. Once the winter stuff is at the pumps, this goes away by itself.
When I originally got my '01 Aero 9-5 sedan (CPO) the local Saab techs tried everything in the book to make it go away - DIC, TPS - since it was all covered by warranty. Service manager showed me an official Saab bulletin issued for left coast dealers - nothing to do but wait, tried Sunoco fuel. Personally (you can check old postings here), I found that certain brands of gas worked better than others, in terms of the car adjusting to the colder overnight temps. (Mobil was the worst, Sunoco was the best, both premium versions.)
Nothing to do, I guess. FWIW, Our '06 Arc wagon doesn't exhibit the same problem at all - mid-level fuel.
