Aftermarket DIC found in the wild Posted by bobc [Email] (#473) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bobc) on Wed, 30 Sep 2020 13:38:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've never seen an afermarket DIC Cassette.
The Aero project car started throwing a variety of misfire codes last week. Normally when this happens I buy a new one and mark the old one "as backup only" and put it in the parts bin. This is due to my case of P9kTSD (post 9000 traumatic stress disorder) Saab 9000 owners know that the DIC can blow at any time leaving you stranded.
side bar: I've never been stranded by a DIC failure in a 9-5.
Anyway when I turned it over I saw no markings at all. Here are pics of the genuine and the non-genuine article. https://www.saabnet.com/tsn/members/gallery.html?memberID=473&do=show&id=46588
I dont know how old that DIC was but my advice is to stick with OEM for this part
