Xenon electrics are very similar to standard halogens except additional control unit inside lamps (bulb driver and automatic leveling). Nothing to be afraid of :)
Here is the schematic:

From your description it is likely that the bulbs are failing, so I would start with their replacement - if the new one fails to ignite then the bulb driver inside control unit could be damaged. Do not buy cheap Chinese bulbs - they can damage pricey bulb driver. Buy Osram/Philips from a good source (counterfeits are common on ebay).
During bulb replacement remember not to touch the bulb glass with your fingers - it could break when it's even a bit dirty and if it breaks then it will destroy the headlight assembly, as it's high pressure arc lamp (it explodes and throws glass shrapnels all around). Automotive "xenons" are special versions of well known metal-halide (HID) lamps used widely in stores.
Here you can find parts list for headlamp (#26 is the lamp control unit)

You can buy the control unit much cheaper, as it was used in many other cars - it's made by Valeo. After control unit replacement calibration with Tech2 will be necessary.
