That grease is only at the very bottom of the lock where the big pin that slides in the groove sits (under the plastic cap). I also had to figure out how to completely disassemble it, not too much info on the web. Great picture of the elements of the lock by the way!
To take the core of the lock (the part with all the plates) from the outer shell you have to depress the steel pin at the bottom of the lock and turn the core into a position that the pin normally prevents it to go to. When you do the grinding the lock gets a bit more tolerant to different keys but since they aren't stolen much around here (Europe) that is not a real issue.
