I find it best to do it during a cold dark night with a small flashlight. Easier to see the trail of suspicious fluid. Another possibility is the chain tensioner seal in the same area but those seem less problematic. If you run a tune, this upper chain tensioner cover area should be heavily sweating at the very least. Design flaw vs. forced induction ..... induction wins.
