I chased a similar annoyance recently with my '02 V6. I went thru TB, plugs, DIC, CPS. Still happened. Turned out a loose connection on air intake tubing between MAF and TB was hidden and loose (under the drivers side front end by the secondary air pump). the loose connection would intermittently cause the MAF to send confusing signals to the TB causing the RPM/power fluctuations. Addressed this and it's been fine since. Not sure if this is your prob but it's definitely worth and easy to check. Best of luck!
