I have a 2004 9-5 Arc with 166,000 km (103k miles) that is stalling at highway speeds. After pulling over and stopping the engine will restart and can be driven for a few minutes at speed before it stalls again. The car seems to have full power. I recently replaced the Crankshaft Position Sensor to resolve a crank-no start problem, but I can't see that this would cause the current problem. I can't see any loose connectors or hoses. All vacuum lines have been replaced within the last year.
Another clue to the puzzle is that when the car reaches a speed of 110 Kmh (68 mph) a very noticeable continuous chirping sound can be heard. This is quite repeatable and always starts at 110 kmph. This may or may not be related to the stalling issue. Possibly a wheel bearing?
Anyone have any ideas?
