i haven't had a chance to check all the things you all have suggested, but I will. One thing I thought of in the early hours of the morning was possibly contaminated fuel. Last drive in the car a few days ago I noticed the engine stalling getting more frequent and the tank level was down to less than I/8. So thinking there might be water in the gas tank, I bought a can of Kleen-flo gas line anti-freeze and poured it in the tank. Then I changed the fuel line filter. So I went for another drive and the engine didn't stall, it just did a lot of sputtering, not always on acceleration. While idling in the driveway, I noticed a sputter so I wiggled all the hoses but the sputter never reoccured. So if the fuel is contaminated it's not likely water. But the change has gone from stalling to sputtering. Possibly nothing to do with fuel, but maybe. I'm thinking that if I fill the tank and the sputtering becomes less frequent, that may indicate a fuel issue.

Before I do that, I'll check all the air intake connections and take the Throttle Body off and check the O ring etc.

Oh, also 2 days ago I noticed a fairly loud popping sound when I started the engine. Temp was about -7 C.
