boost control valve? Posted by bobc [Email] (#473) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bobc) on Mon, 26 Apr 2021 07:09:44 In Reply to: Bad Charge Air Pressure Sensor?, MI-Roger [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 24 Apr 2021 07:01:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If you suspect that the intake is being over-pressurized also consider inspecting and/or replacing the boost control valve. When mine failed, boost pressure was so high during acceleration that the ECU cut fuel to the engine. This resulted in a violent oscillating stumble:
-> boost rises quickly -> fuel is cut off -> boost drops -> fuel is restored -> boost rises quickly -> fuel is cut ... etc etc.
this happened only under moderate to hard acceleration. the car ran just fine all other times.
