Recent problem where my 08 with 155K sputters then dies on first start of morning then starts fine every time rest of the day. I have been checking fuel pressure for the last few days during the day to start and it always reaches 40 PSI when starting then holds pressure above 25-30 after the car has been shut off for at least two hours. First cold start pressure was around 40 yesterday that resulted in sputter/dying followed by a healthy start at 40 PSI. I checked again this morning and it read around 20-25 resulting sputter/dying. Second crank was a healthy start with 40 PSI. AM I looking at a faulty fuel check valve ? Anyone know where it's located on a 2008 ? The tank needs to come down and fuel pumps are expensive and hard to get right now for these.
I'm thinking about a add on check valve on the fuel line near the fuel rail but I can't tell if those are hard lines that can accept a add on check valve.
Any ideas or expertise would be appreciated.
I have also noticed the temp gauge seems to come off the cold very quickly and have a CTS coming to replace incase it's faulty causing some sort of flooding on cold starts.
