I've been using the NGK single platinums when the specified double platinums are not available. I had heard some negative comments vs the iridiums for SAABs, but who knows how factual those were. The single platinums are readily available, reasonably priced, and should last longer than the copper plugs. Only use NGK, and of course the correct plug size and heat rating and resistor.
TBH, I feel a bit uncomfortable changing the double platinum plugs as infrequently as they spec... maybe that just makes me old?
