9-5 Wagon Deals

Major incentives make 9-5 Wagon purchase very attractive but still leave money on table.
Here's how I calculated current (July/August) deal on Saab 9-5 Linear Wagon.
List -- auto, metallic paint, no premium -- 36,900. Minus 2000 above the line invoice dollars. Minus 4% dealer holdback of about 1400. Means dealer cost roughly 33500. Saab incentive to dealer now 5000 (continued in August). Leaves dealer cost at about 28500. Local dealer selling for 29300 (fairly firm), leaving dealer with about 800 -- not counting other profit centers available to dealer vis a vis financing, lease, etc.
Aggressive negotiating presumably could cut further into dealer profit.
Saab lease factor right now translates into a very attractive interest rate number between 1 and 2% meaning that leasing to buy can be as cheap as buying outright (assuming money can be made on downpayment money if it is delayed until end of lease and used then for car buyout.)
