Yes the clutch can be replaced. I have not done this for many years. If I remember correctly it is easier to remove the compressor todo. The reason I stopped doing this repair and went with replacing the entire compressor was price. Back then when your car was new the clutch was almost the same price as the entire compressor. But I have not checked for years so maybe that has changed. Good Luck, Bernie
