“Stored” Codes Posted by pme [Email] (#1496) [Profile/Gallery] (more from pme) on Mon, 25 Oct 2021 07:51:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi all
A month or so back I posted about a P0410 code on my 2003 9-5 V6, now with 299,850 miles on it. After my Indy replaced the check valves, the code came back, so I replaced the SAI pump. The old pump worked, but the new one seems to be blowing at a higher volume. The active P0410 code went away a few starts after I replaced the SAI pump, and the CEL went out, however a “Stored”P0410 code remains.
While I know that I can clear the code with my code reader, I am curious whether this is a code that will self clear over time as the ECM determines that the underlying cause has indeed been solved.
Does anyone known if this is the case, and if so, have a sense of how long this might take to clear? I will be due for emissions inspection in December, so will need to clear it by then, otherwise am not in any hurry. I’m more curious about how these self-diagnostic items work.
It’s been about 2 weeks since the SAI replacement; no pending or active codes have appeared since then.
Thanks!
