What feels like 100 years ago, right before my Extended Warranty ran out, I started getting the Christmas tree on startup. Dealer at the time replaced the ABS module, but the issue recurred. Somehow they determined that it was a fault in the brake light switch, which made some sense as the fault occurred when the car was being started with a foot on the brake pedal. Replaced that switch and no recurrence since.

I looked at my records, and the repair was initiated in March after being a sporadic issue for a month or so prior, which would be reasonably cold weather here in NY (not quite as cold as you, but still winter temperatures)
