For those who have followed my asks over the last two years...
The foam in my drivers seat was failing. Ultimately just not supporting my, now larger, arse. It was making for a relatively uncomfortable drive for anything over 30 minutes or so.
I've asked multiple times, and looked everywhere... SAAB doesn't make the foam for a 2001 9-5 Aero with heated and cooled seats. Just doesn't exist anymore, sadly.
On a whim, I purchased the standard seat foam (4654414) and dove in.
The heater is a standard cloth pad which is glued to the foam. My hope is to use the existing with some super 77 and adhere it back to the new seat bottom.
The vent portion is routed up through some much more substantial foam (black part) that insets into the foam cushion. There are holes that match up in the cushion to keep it there.
The black part is held in place with little metal clips, and has yet another layer that goes 'under' it to keep it in place.
Now for the fun part - somehow I need to cut away some of the foam, and make the holes, to allow the airflow bladder to fit into this cushion.
I'm thinking hot wire knife and/or a heated metal pipe for the holes.
