The only thing needed between the two pump halves is the papergasket. Just make sure the surfaces are clean.
I always take the engine mount bracket off. Getting the powersteering pump out of the way is required and the bracket is in the way.
Viton rings? I always use the rings that come with the OEM pump and never had a problem.

BTW, just 75K and already a new pump? I’m on my third waterpump but my car is at 600.000 miles and the third pump is in since about 20.000 miles, so my estimate is that a decent original pump should be able to go for about 250.000 miles. Mine do not leak but both started rattling because of a shot bearing. The only leaking pump I had to replace was on a very low milage 9-3 (@20.000 miles in 12 years time). It has the same engine & water pump.
