Greetings,

I had to replace water pump on my 2007 9-5 as water pump hub pulley was starting to kiss and grind against engine timing chain cover due to failed bearing. I was surprised that it never leaked through the failed bearing assembly.
I was involved in a compound repair where exhaust manifold gasket, 2 manifold studs replacement and water pump had to be done all at once. I was able to keep r/h engine top C mount installed to perform these repairs however, power steering pump had to be unbolted and moved aside.
I did user RTV high temp silicone on both sides of provided paper gasket between water pump and housing achieving "RTV/gasket/RTV sandwich" I've made an extra effort to clean coolant passage gong into the engine block and the sleeve/adapter that joins block and water pump together.
After the repair, I had a coolant leak. Using new solid copper washers on both sides of the banjo bolt did not prevent coolant dripping ever so slightly on top of the A/C compressor after 3 full drive cycles. I never saw coolant drip or pool on the ground. I caught it by carefully inspecting the pump and all attached hoses, clamps, banjo bolt. I've noticed a wet area just underneath the banjo bolt, top of the A/C compressor. I had to go with copper hollow "donut" like copper washers, used for the engine oil drain plug, to fully rectify the seepage issue. Full banjo bolt torque value was achieved when tightening the bolt.
Even after a hand full of drive cycle, I had to periodically look in that area to see if other leaks anywhere I've disturbed and other leak had developed.
I hope your repair went smooth and you didn't have any issues after the water pump replacement.

Cheers,
