I'd do a drain and refill (with Euro GM synthetic) the manual gearboxes, multiple times. It should get the shifting back to where it is no longer balky. Buy maybe 4 quarts as they're not real easy to locate when you need some.
I use an oversized oil filter NAPA Platinum #41516 to increase the oil carrying capacity. Always full synthetic, except occasional top offs in the last 1,000 miles of the oil change cycle (which is around 7,500 mi for me, more if a trip to CA is in there).
A spare Ignition Cassette in the trunk means yours will work fine. But pull your existing DIC and look for small cracks in the black plastic area between each unit - if you have cracks there you'll likely pull a code and if no cracks, you're almost always fine.
Bleed your braking system - have a full quart of fresh fluid at the ready. Likewise drain and fill your cooling system.
Make sure your undermotor shield on the passenger side is intact - don't get road spray on your alternator - it doesn't like that.
Don't overwork the Valeo ACC system that effectuates changes in interior temperature and such. These are fragile. Shut it down entirely if not really needed. Don't let the kids or passengers micromanage the climate control as these are prohibitively expensive to replace.
As well as the other recommendations. Yeah, your '05 Arc is quite similar to the '04 Arc (but not the '03 and earlier Arcs). They changed some colors, wheel designs and deleted the gas tank access cover button on the driver door panel. Maybe 1-2 more things but that's it.
Enjoy!
