I just had the upper radiator hose fail on me on a cross country road trip - made it from AZ to Pasadena with electrical tape overwrapped with duct tape.

I reused the stock spring clamps - they've lost nothing in the 22 years since the car was manufactured ('01 9-5 Aero). But if I had had some screw tighten type clamps, I would have switched them out. Oh, I replaced the water pump ( 225K) while I was at it. Access to these clamps varies from location to location under there - some are really a challenge. But those clamps are really at peace with the world while on there - rust is not an issue on vehicles mostly driven south of the Mason Dixon.

Now, I am wondering if this potent Dawn Degreaser took the aged hose past the point of no return (I detailed under the hood prior to the trip). Comments?
