I had the exact same problem in my '01 9-5 Areo sedan about 8 years ago. I bought a bunch of stranded wire, I think it was 16 or 14 gauge, don't remember. I spliced in (soldered connections and heat-shrink tubing over) about 4-5 inches of wire for every broken wire - and for the non-broken lines, as well. Enough new wire so that the "bend" point was now on all new material.
You've got to pay careful attention to the existing wire color coding. As I recall, there were several wire colors that were identical, going to different places, BUT of slightly different wire gauges. For the green wires, there were THREE different wire gauges, as I recall. So, when repairing, make sure you carefully observe both the wire colors AND their thicknesses.
The other thing I recall was that the plastic housing on the body side was a puzzle to remove until I looked at a parts callout diagram. The housing is removed by gently rotating it a very small amount until it pops out.
