ACC test code 08 blend door driver side. mixed warm/cool air coming out of driver side vents while on LO cold setting. when selecting heat the door is definitely going to all heat. when selecting cold LO setting the air feels slightly mixed with some warm air definitely not as cool as passenger side vents.
removed step motor and lower elbow so could see into shaft directly and with scope camera. of course can't see past the wall into the actual blend door area. can operate stop arm and shaft manually with motor removed. can see the round flush yellow plastic part rotating when moving stop arm up and down manually. somehow warm air is still getting into vents. has anyone had the interior of the blend door box break, get obstructed or something that would cause it to not completely shut off all warm air flow? my next plan tonight is to remove the stop arm and see if the shaft is actually rotating all the way closed. the motor or myself manually definitely operates the door via the shaft as it gets really hot if turn to heat setting. and just enough mix of warm to be uncomfortable when turned to cold setting. definitely not as cold as passenger side vents. one thought is could the shaft be just cracked not broken off obviously because it does operate the blend door. cracked enough that it slipped on the stop arm such that the stop arm is now in a spot that stops the shaft before it gets all the way closed? either that or something is inside the door blend box obstructing the door from closing all the way?
