A while back I had the parking brake cable replaced because it was getting stuck in cold weather. I supplied the shop with both the main cable assembly that connects to the drums and a short cable that connects the main one to the hand lever. They ended up replacing only the main one, telling me that the other one looked fine and would have taken a long time to do. Well, that lasted one winter, and the first significant drop below zero this winter and it's doing the same thing.
So my question is, did the main cable really go bad that fast, or is it possible that the shorter cable needed to be replaced too? And should I just give up, and not use the parking brake in the winter?
