I think this helps a little but not sure. I pull the rubber boot off at the brake end of the cables and put grease inside and work the cable back and forth to get some inside the sheathing. I started doing this years ago and seem to get fewer frozen parking brake cables then I got before I started doing this to peoples cars. Ofcourse I am down in PA not in the great white north, but we do get a winter here. Good Luck, Bernie
