Hi Bob,
FredKolb12 is on a right track.
It's common for alternator internal electric circuitry (Zener diode(s)) to be in particular to start leaking. As per WIS there are 9 Zener diodes all together. Two per each three phase delta-connected windings (total of 6) and specifically on 130A alternator 1 Zener diode per phase called magnetization diode (total of 3) any one or more of those 9 can leak current.
As per schematic, if you are handy with a multimeter, you can try probing for a leak. A full fault diagnosis could be accomplished when alternator is on the bench stand.
--------
There is also a possibility that your vehicle's CAN BUS communication doesn't go to sleep due to a particular fault within a module. It takes the longest for ECU, appx. 15 min to go to sleep. One would require oscilloscope to back probe CAN H+ / CAN L- at DLC at DLC for '08+ vehicles. and for '99 you'd have to find a pair of twisted wires GREEN/WHITE. They could be found at any vehicle's power modules like TWICE/DICE/ABS/MIU etc and at ECU.
However, I am leaning more toward internal fault within the alternator.
Cheers,
