Got home last night, whirring/grinding moise on shut off, thought my fuel pump had just died. After some fiddling I realized it was when I pulled the key out and the doors auto-unlocked and I then discovered the fuel door was not locking. Dame Edna owner's don't have a button for the fuel door- it is tied to the door lock mechanism and locks/unlocks with it automatically.
I just pulled the actuator apart again and discovered the plastic worm gear shaft is broken- motor still works fine. Fortunately it broke in the unlocked position.
Recommend people keep a T25 screwdriver and a 10mm nutdriver in the trunk so you don't get stuck somewhere with your fuel door locked as it literally takes less than 60 seconds to remove the actuator and mounting bracket from inside the trunk.
