Front anti-roll bar Posted by MarkFr [Email] (#2057) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MarkFr) on Tue, 14 Mar 2023 02:21:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My 2009 1.9tdi wagon with 170k miles has a front end with rattles, I'm guessing the drop links and bushes for the anti roll bar.
All the other bushes are powerflex, done when shocks (bilsteins) and springs were done about 15k ago.
My previous wagon was a 2004 Aero and the front was much more stable, so my thought was that if I'm replacing the bushes and drop-links, then an upgrade to a 21mm or 22mm anti roll bar would be relatively simple done at the same time. There are cheap second hand ones from a swedish breaker....
My main concern is the balance between front and rear if I don't replace the rear anti-roll bar with a matched one from an aero.
Not having 300 bhp anymore (a just adequate 190bhp), my driving is a little more sedate so it's not about fast handling, just a little less side to side motion on less than perfect roads.
Any thoughts out there?
Mark
