The antennas for the radio are in one or both rear side windows in the wagon. There is an antenna amplifier and what is called a “diversity” antenna amplifier for some wagons. As I understand it, the diversity amplifier can switch back and forth between the two window antennas to achieve the best signal strength. WIS says these are two types of amplifiers 1-channel with two connectors and 2-channel with diversity function with 3 connectors. In either case, the amplifier is located above the headliner in the cargo area between the rear hatch lifts. The antenna cable travels down from the radio, through the center console, towards and along and under the right rear door, over the right rear fender and above the gas cap, then up the D pillar to the roof area. Accessing the amplifier involves removing the rear roof cover containing the cargo area light, unplugging the light, removing the D pillar trim on both sides, undoing the tops of both C pillar trims, right and left, removing the two plastic clips (turn 90 degrees) in the rear headliner, and finally carefully bending down the headliner to access the amplifier. It will be obvious whether you have the 1 or 2 channel amplifier as you will see the cables going to either 1 or both windows. You could start by disconnecting the antenna cable from the amplifier and checking whether there is continuity with the other end of the cable behind the radio. Getting to the amplifier sounds daunting but it goes quickly just be careful removing those brittle plastic trim pieces. Auto parts stores and Harbor Freight sell a cheap set of small nylon pry bars for removing interior trim that work well. I would guess that if you removed the antenna cable from the amplifier you could attach a short piece of wire to the center conductor and get a signal from a strong radio station. This would tell you if the radio was working and if the antenna cable was intact. WIS cautions you to take care removing the antenna connector from the amplifier to avoid damaging the connector, so it must be somewhat fragile. I hope this helps describing a rather complex antenna system.
